Thanks for taking the time to look in on my blog, David. I really do appreciate your time and your kind words. There have been so many folks that have inspired me (and continue to do so) since I started that I totally relate to your comment. I have probably left similar messages on countless sites over the last couple of years (If you look at my links page 'bird nerd friends' they are listed). I wish you every success with you winter projects and all the luck that is sometimes needed, also! Thanks again and take care. Chris Bale.

Hi Chris, I have just read your recently added blog "A year of rarities and ... Barn Owls, and I would just like to say how absolutely superb it is. It's a great idea to do a summary of the year in photo's. As a budding bird photographer it is inspirational to see your photo's, taken despite the same pressures of work and family that the rest of also have. I have set myself the objective this Winter of a good Barn Owl and SE Owl and if they are a fraction as good as yours, I will be very happy. Nice one, please keep going.

Your photos are truly amazing and this website beautifully presented. Amazed how many of the same or similar birds we have here in Auckland NZ. My Canon 400D shots seem a little out of this league. OK, a long way out of this league :-) Fabulous guys Keep it up
